Selana FI could theoretically be located in a secret location somewhere in the PNW, where she spends far too much time alternately staring at a computer screen and rolling dice.
3/1: I'm not terribly interested in blogging, but I do intend to occasionally post public notes on my works. With Axiom of Spiders, the original fanwork version, set to release on my website, patreon, etc, soon, I wanted to share a little about it.
Aestith'Rix (A's-tith-Rix) was a character I created before I started playing Dungeons and Dragons. My friend was telling me about the lore, and I was immediately interested in drow, specifically Lolthite drow. The innerworkings of an "evil society" fascinated me and as she explained how it worked, I wondered: How would they treat an intersex drow? What if that drow were a cleric?
When it came time to sit down and play, because she placed a great deal of trust in me, she, the GM, allowed me to play my evil character as my first character in a campaign. I do not recommend this for most new players, but I have this one word of advice if your GM feels experienced enough to deal with your nonsense: Your character's personality is more important than their alignment.
Some of the adventures contained in the novel are our adventures, or parts of things we've played, perhaps with our other characters that I thought were so fun that I adapted into the story. I've reworked large swathes of it to not quite resemble any pre-made modules that we did, put them in different orders than happened, changed the circumstances, order, and/or monsters to fit the narrative flow. I'm sure if any of my fellow players read this, they would recognize what I changed. All of their characters were used with permission and enthusiasm. Enormous portions of the novels did not happen in-game, however, and I will leave that up to the reader to determine which bits are which.
Some of our adventures didn't make the cut into the novel. I may type them up if there is enough interest.
